Myopia Management
What is myopia? Myopia, or nearsightedness is a condition of the eye in which the axial length of the eye is either too long, or the power of the cornea/lens combination is too strong or convergent. This causes light rays to be focused in front of the retina. The more myopic or nearsighted a person becomes, the greater their risk for Retinal Detachment, Glaucoma, Myopic maculopathy and Posterior subcapsular cataract (PSC). Myopia management is a treatment program the eye doctors at Eyes on Camp Bowie use to slow down the progression of myopia in children. This can be using a combination of soft contact lenses, hard contact lenses, prescription eye drops, and eyeglasses. Schedule an appointment for your child today!
